Travel photography is one of my favourite forms of photography; it is a genre of photography that captures a time, place, its people and culture in a natural state. Travel portraits are even more special, being gracious and asking permission to photograph a person can lead to something magical.

I came across Spanish photographer Diego Arroyo portraits many years ago and recently revisted his portfolio of work, his photographs have an almost ethereal feel to them.

"He travels the world in search of the subtle: a smile, a wink of complicity, that special look that reveals our true and intimate essence. His challenge is trying to catch the story behind the eyes of strangers, the underlying magic that deserves to be seen and usually remains unnoticeable."
