Soft and sublte, cosy and fresh, this peachy shade sits somewhere between pink and orange, just like a sunset, and feel it will be easier to incorporate into your home decoration then 2023 colour Viva Magenta. Think textiles with your cushions and bed linen, artwork, vintage style glassware and even as a wall colour in your bedroom. Paint colours such as Dulux Fuzzy Peach S09H4 and Dulux Polly S09H3 are the closest in colour to Pantone’s Peach Fuzz or for a slighter darker shade consider Dulux Peach Fizz S08H5 (refer to colour swatches below).
‘Subtly sensual, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration. An appealing peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz inspires belonging, recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from.’ Pantone 2023

‘This year we see a shift towards the use of multi-hued schemes, but crafted to reflect a balanced interior. The colours are richer and there are less pastel and bright hues, compared to what we saw last year with a shift towards more sophisticated nostalgic references.’ Bree Leech, Dulux colour forecaster and stylist.
Solstice, designed to transform your home into a soothing retreat, the Solstice palette of rich and organic hues, can cocoon us and help to evoke feelings of strength and joy. Solstice is influenced by the pared-back Scandinavian design style with the added warmth of colours inspired by the Mediterranean and desert landscapes (Images 6-9].Journey, travel, cultural differences, bohemian charm and the art of craft influenced the Journey palette of lavish midtone colours for a maximalist and eclectic feel in our homes [Images 1-5].

Pros
An earthy and natural product Marble exudes a sense of luxury.
Each stone slab is unique with an endless range of colours ranging from light to dark and veining from subtle to course.
Marble is a soft stone and easier to work with, so you can be creative with its application.
It is hypoallergenic, water, heat and bacteria resistant.
Well cared for Marble adds value to a home.
It suits all styles of interiors, from classic to contemporary and modern.
Cons
Marble is a porous material, even when sealed it may stain. Oils, fats, acidic materials (lemon and vinegar), red wine, strawberries and wet glass marks must be wiped straight away.
It is easily etched, scratched and chipped.
Mined overseas (Italy, Spain and India) transportation to Australia creates a large carbon footprint.
Marble, particularly the rarer and premium styles such as Carrara and Calacutta, is a high-priced natural stone.

Time spent exploring and refining further the S\W brand, vision and core values has led to a refresh of the Shear & Wood website for 2023.
"Designing thoughtful, creative, and expressive interiors, where global inspiration and life stories fuse to create a meaningful home."
The concept of the home page is a Mood Board of beautiful imagery, a visual representation of Shear & Wood where an appreciation for colour and texture, travel both near and far inspire playful and contemporary style interiors. A key decoration element of any S\W designed interior is original artwork, represented on the Mood Board by the painted curved line art by Victorian artist Melanie Macilwain (who kindly allowed its use).
If you have just found us here at Safari Fusion make sure to visit our Interior Design and Decoration brand Shear & Wood and take the time to explore.

]]>It just so happened the gorgeous Art Deco town building which houses the Horsham Regional Art Gallery were showing a very special collection of works by Sidney Nolan, titled Expansive Ground Sidney Nolan in the Wimmera. The artworks on loan from the National Gallery of Australia and the Heide Museum of Modern Art were paintings created by Nolan during his time conscripted in the army. Instead of fighting on the frontline, Nolan was stationed in rural Victoria guarding emergency food stores in the Wimmera towns of Dimboola, Nhill, Ballarat and Horsham from potential invasion during WWII.
It was such a worthy visit, as someone who appreciates colour I loved the repeated use of yellow hues through the collection, the saturation and vibrancy was just mesmerising, I could also see how Nolan’s artistic style was influenced by Modernism and other artists such as Picasso.
So if you are visiting a small country town, I recommend taking time to seek out local galleries and museums as you never know what you may find.

The Dulux Colour Forecast 2023 continues on from last years’ post COVID feeling of hope and positivity by acknowledging that we are all at different stages with how we aspire to feel within the home.

The three palettes in the Dulux Colour Forecast 2023 reflect these differing needs, allowing you to create beautiful living spaces that reflect where you are in your life’s journey." Bree Leech, Dulux colour forecaster and stylist.

The exciting addition to the 2022 Colour Forecast was the Wonder Palette and is quite different from what we saw in 2021 - the hope and positivity on the horizon has been created in this uplifting palette." We have full access to his Omo Collection catalogue and feature a small selection of our favourites in the Safari Store. We can also assist with artwork from his other collections including Turkana (Kenya), Asante Sana (Zanzibar), Ilha (Mozambique), Rough Cut (Namibia) and Leaving Lubango (Angola) and take care of the stretching and framing as well.
Following is a render I created for a client recently to help them visualise how a pair of David's photographic canvas' would work on their entrance wall. If you would like to see how this beautiful Fine Art Photography could work in your space, please call or touch base by email.
In Kuba culture men are responsible for the raffia palm cultivation and the weaving of the cloth. A course cloth when cut from the loom it is softened by mortar pounding in readiness for its surface decoration by Kuba women - a textured array of linear embroidery and stitches.
This cloth is seeing a resurgence in recent years, with interior designers and decorators incorporating this special textile into residential design through wall art, cushions, pillows and other textile applications.

Her beautiful geometric designs were developed further and crafted into a unique and special range of embroidered corn sack cushions called 'Langazela', a Zulu word meaning 'a wish to do something'.
Look closely and you will see the print detail on the corn bag behind the embroidery. The cushion features green bead edge detailing and a 100% cotton back with zip. As with all Safari Fusion cushions, a custom made Feather Insert is included at no additional cost.
