Flashback to when I participated in Abigail Ahern's masterclass here in Melbourne in October 2012.
Designer, stylist and owner of one of London's leading interior stores, Abigail shared her tips and tricks on how to create your own eclectic style without it looking like a complete flea market disaster.
She does not follow rules she breaks them, and encourages us all to decorate by following our heart and not trends.
"The more visual friction you create, the more interesting a space."
Totally inspired to create lots of visual friction in my home, I ended up painting our front room of our old house a deep and moody grey (you can take a peek of the colour in our Safari Store).
I look back on this masterclass as a catalyst, opening my creative mind to appreciate deep bold colour and the wonderful world of interior design and decoration.
