In the lead up to Christmas there was great discussion in one of my design groups over Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2024 hue selection; a hit with some, a miss with others, with many reminiscing about the 80s vibe. The colour reminds me of beautiful sunsets, it’s warm and inviting, and a neutral that works well with a variety of hues.
Soft and sublte, cosy and fresh, this peachy shade sits somewhere between pink and orange, just like a sunset, and feel it will be easier to incorporate into your home decoration then 2023 colour Viva Magenta. Think textiles with your cushions and bed linen, artwork, vintage style glassware and even as a wall colour in your bedroom. Paint colours such as Dulux Fuzzy Peach S09H4 and Dulux Polly S09H3 are the closest in colour to Pantone’s Peach Fuzz or for a slighter darker shade consider Dulux Peach Fizz S08H5 (refer to colour swatches below).
‘Subtly sensual, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration. A warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others or for enjoying a moment of stillness and the feeling of sanctuary this creates, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to a new softness. An appealing peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, Pantone 13-1023 Peach Fuzz inspires belonging, recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from.’ Pantone 2023
Even if Peach Fizz is not for you, incorporating colour into your home decoration scheme can work wonders to refresh and uplift the feel of your home. As a designer who is passionate about colour I can help take away some of the uncertainty of the outcome before a paint brush even touches your walls, get in touch today to discover how.
