Meet Kellie Shearwood

Meet Kellie Shearwood

It's time for a proper introduction…Hello my name is Kellie Shearwood and I am the Interior Designer and Decorator at Shear & Wood and owner of Safari Fusion.

You generally will not see many pictures of me as I prefer to be behind the camera, however I thought last week I would take some time to do a ‘self’ photo shoot.

Some things you may or may not know about me....

I love all forms of design, interiors, architecture and product. Interior Design and Decoration is my third, final (and best!) career, it has taken me a while to work this out (with some study too), however I am a big believer in self-evolving with your career as you never know where your passions and skills may take you.

I am told I have an 'eagle eye', handy when working through fine design detail and for collecting shells on the beach (I am a bit of a bowerbird).

I love walking, it’s almost a daily ritual and how I like to start my day, plus I finish with coffee at my local cafe, Junior.

I have travelled to Africa almost 20 times, this is where my passion for interior design and sourcing unique objects started (1st career travel industry).

I am a keen photographer and take pictures wherever I go. Some of my travel photos featured in Abercrombie & Kent Australia travel brochures and one interior image made the Queensland Homes cover.

I love colour, Green and Magenta are my two personal favourites.

I have a few nicknames, an old one that makes me laugh is 'Ned' as in Ned Kelly (full disclosure, I never was, are or will be a bushranger). 😆

Finally, before I was an interior designer, I was fortunate to have my first home feature in the August 2006 edition of Home Beautiful magazine. Working with Architecture Matters we designed and rebuilt two-thirds of our little brick Edwardian, a big learning curve and my first real look into the world of design.
