Fashioning Black Identity

For anyone visiting or living in North Queensland, make sure you visit the Cairns Art Gallery to view their current exhibition 'Fashioning Black Identity'.

The exhibition explores Africa and the African Diaspora through fashion and photography and how it seeks to redefine personal and cultural identity. It brings together photographic works by six prominent artists including Malian photographer Seydou Keïta, Leonce Raphael Agbodjelou from Benin, Senegalese Omar Victor Diop along with Melbourne based Atong Atem.

African and African diaspora fashion, photography and portraiture at Cairns Art Gallery until 5th May 2019.
