As an Interior Designer and Decorator I understand the transformative power colour posses when creating inviting and inspiring spaces. That's why I am excited to share the Dulux Colour Forecast 2024, where a curation of bold colour and unexpected combinations infuse residential interiors with comforting warmth, positive energy, and nurturing character. The colour palette Journey is my personal favourite, embracing travel and the cultural spirit of faraway places through colour, a practice and design ethos close to the Shear & Wood heart.
The new trends feature warm colours with a yellow inference, pink-influenced clay hues and reddy browns, olive green and accents of pale blue and zesty yellow.
‘This year we see a shift towards the use of multi-hued schemes, but crafted to reflect a balanced interior. The colours are richer and there are less pastel and bright hues, compared to what we saw last year with a shift towards more sophisticated nostalgic references.’ Bree Leech, Dulux colour forecaster and stylist.
Solstice, designed to transform your home into a soothing retreat, the Solstice palette of rich and organic hues, can cocoon us and help to evoke feelings of strength and joy. Solstice is influenced by the pared-back Scandinavian design style with the added warmth of colours inspired by the Mediterranean and desert landscapes (Images 6-9].Journey, travel, cultural differences, bohemian charm and the art of craft influenced the Journey palette of lavish midtone colours for a maximalist and eclectic feel in our homes [Images 1-5].
Muse, heavily influenced by the nostalgia of the postmodern era, with a particular emphasis on the '70s, the Muse palette is a celebration of the free-spirited styles of the past [Images 10-13].
