Bamileke feather headdress

Bamileke feather headdress

Beautiful and textured our West African Bamileke Feather Headdress is a sort after art piece. Now available in our Safari Store are more of our large (72-85cm) size White headdresses, plus new colours including Blush, Grey and Teal.

Crafted in Cameroon, these feathered hats are traditionally worn by Bamileke dancers of the Kuosi [Elephant] Society. Wearing an elaborate beaded elephant mask, leopard skin and a red feather headdress they performed ritualistic dances for the Fon [King].
