The Zulu people are the largest tribal group of South Africa. Worn by Zulu women to indicate their married status this traditional style headdress [Zulu: isicholo] is akin to a wedding ring.
A tightly woven grass basket forms the shape of the hat. Cotton cloth is stretched over the basket and finished with wool stitching in a circular pattern.
Display three hats vertically or horizontally on the wall or place a single hat on a shelf. For a large wall space hang nine hats in rows of three.
