Swazi Patchwork Basket (large)
- The Story
Utilitarian and aesthetically pleasing African baskets are traditionally used for storage and transport. The Swazi highlands are home to Africa's most exceptional women weavers where materials grow naturally and artistic weaving techniques are passed from one generation to the next.
The basket is coiled free hand with a patchwork clash design created from dyed lutindzi grass, sisal fibres, reclaimed waste fabric, sweet papers and sequins made from off cut leather and plastic bottles.
Vibrant and tactile this basket is a great way to add a pop of colour on a table or shelf. Create a wall display with a selection of baskets in varying sizes and designs.
