These beautiful, feathered Juju Hats are traditionally worn by Bamileke dancers of the Kuosi [Elephant] Society. Wearing an elaborate beaded elephant mask, leopard skin and a red feather headdress they performed ritualistic dances for the Fon [King].
Dyed chicken feathers tie onto timber arms and are hand stitched into a woven raffia basket.
A Bamileke Headdress is a great way to add colour and texture to a wall. Mount over a fireplace or above the bed; display a pair of the same colour or in a group three. Or create a spectacular wall display with five or sevens hats of various sizes and colours.

WHEN WE DELIVER
Same day dispatch for orders received and paid in full before 11.00am (AEST) Monday to Friday. Outside of this time, your order will be dispatched the following business day.
To open, remove the string tied around the outside, hold the string handles on the basket base and gently push the centre of the basket in as far as it will go and the centre feathers open.
Adjust the headdress by moving the feathers gently side to side, the feather timber arms up and down and the basket in and out. Please do not pull at the feathers as they may come out. Mount the headdress on the wall by using one of the string handles on a picture hook.
Moth prevention is required with feathers, we recommend you dust and lightly vacuum the headdress every month. Remove from the wall, with feathers facing down, open and close with a gentle shake; follow with a dry cloth wipe and vacuum. Do not display in direct sunlight as colour fade may occur. When storing we recommend a dry, sealed, plastic box with moth repellent.
